Construction is underway on the $110.2 million Cowra Hospital redevelopment.

A significant milestone for the project was reached with an official sod turn and smoking ceremony on the site of the new hospital. Members of the community,
Health Council, staff, clinicians as well as Health Infrastructure and Western NSW Local Health District representatives participated in a sod turning ceremony to
mark the start of construction. The event opened with a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country by local Elder Esther Cutmore, alongside her son and grandson. It was an exciting day for the community to see works progress on the new purpose-built health facility, which will provide high-quality care and has been tailored to the needs of the region.
